Round 1 of the Peak Raid Series 2017 | Hayfield

For 2017 we have a new area, Hayfield.

The first round of the Peak Raid series kicks off on October 22nd. You will register at the Scout Hut on Swallow House Lane but you will have a remote start closer to the hills- stay tuned to find out more. Currently your parking will be in the public car park across the river using the footpath to cross over to the field below the hut.

Entry can be made via the Fabian 4 site from May 31st

The Area

This should be a great start to the series with some excellent running on the flanks of Kinder. Dave hasn’t mapped the area yet but it is intricate in places and it should prove interesting. If the clag is down you will need all your navigation / orienteering skills although the area is generally in a bowl shape- so if you do get lost heading west and down should get you back onto safe ground.

The art of running a good Mini Mountain Marathon is moving efficiently over the terrain to collect as many points as you can, safely with in the time limit. Pick a bad line and you’ll be ascending and descending some rough ground and you’ll lose time or points. Either way it will hurt.

For all events you can enter as a solo or a pair.

Entries are for each event are £11 pp if you enter before August, £13 pp in August then £15 pp from September and £17 pp on the day.

Important: Please note there is an additional £2 per person ‘donation’ to the Peak Park added to each entry

There is no series discount or pairs discount. We have kept the entry fee down for everyone, particularly if they enter early.
